Regarding the announcement earlier on a male psychiatric rehabilitation ward in which some patients had been confirmed with upper respiratory symptoms, the spokesperson for Shatin Hospital (SH) made the following update today (July 23):
One more 56-year-old patient in the ward presented with upper respiratory symptoms. Appropriate viral tests have been arranged. The patient concerned is being treated under isolation and is in stable condition.
Restricted visiting to the ward concerned has been imposed. The hospital will continue the stepped-up infection control measures and will monitor the situation closely.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
