Regarding the cases of Norovirus infection in Kowloon Hospital (KH), the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (July 21):
One more 60-year-old patient of the concerned female rehabilitation ward has presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms today. Appropriate tests have been arranged for her and the result was positive to Norovirus. The patient is being treated under isolation and in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended and restricted visiting to the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the concerned ward are under close surveillance.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
