Further amendments to improvement works of access road at Mok Tse Che, Sai Kung, gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (July 20) proposing further amendments to the improvement works for an access road at Mok Tse Che, Sai Kung. The proposed further amendments aim to ameliorate the effect of the works on the environment.

     The proposed further amendments are as follows:

(i) revision of the proposed limit of the works area;
(ii) construction of a lay-by;
(iii) revision of the proposed carriageway, footpaths and retaining walls;
(iv) reconstruction of the existing vehicle deck;
(v) temporary closure and resurfacing of a section of the existing carriageway;
(vi) revision of the proposed permanent closure and conversion of a section of the existing carriageway into footpath;
(vii) revision of the proposed temporary closure and reconstruction of the existing carriageway;
(viii) temporary closure and reconstruction of the existing staircases;
(ix) temporary closure of the existing refuse collection point;
(x) deletion of the proposed vehicle deck;
(xi) deletion of the proposed platform for relocation of the existing shrine;
(xii) deletion of the proposed staircases;
(xiii) deletion of the proposed permanent/temporary closure of the existing footpaths or staircases;
(xiv) deletion of the proposed reconstruction of the existing refuse collection point;
(xv) deletion of the proposed relocation of the existing shrine;
(xvi) deletion of the proposed resumption of lots;
(xvii) amendment of the portion of land to be resumed; and
(xviii) revision of the proposed ancillary works including retaining structures, drainage, landscaping and slope works.

     The second amendment plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed further amendments should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before September 18, 2012.
