Members of the public can have a better understanding of the policing work by accessing to the ˇ§Hong Kong Police Mobile Applicationˇ¨ (HKP Mobile App) launched today (July 18). The HKP Mobile App is the first step of Force strategy to adopt social media for communication with the public.
ˇ§The HKP Mobile App can further expand the existing police communication channels to strengthen engagement with the public, appreciate the demands from the society and garner community support,ˇ¨ a Police spokesman said.
He added that the mobile application was able to provide the public with an access to the latest information of the Force at any time and from anywhere.
The first phase of the HKP Mobile App includes the following features:
* Force Vision, Common Purpose and Values
* Commissionerˇ¦s Operational Priorities
* Contact us
* Nearest Report Room
* Press release
* Recruitment
The Force plans to launch the second phase by the end of this year to enrich HKP Mobile App by providing more information, the spokesman said.
Interested parties are welcome to use their Smartphones (iPhone and Android system) to download the application through the ˇ§App Storeˇ¨ and ˇ§Google Playˇ¨.
