The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government issued the following statement regarding the investigation results on the Li Wangyang incident released by the Hunan Provincial Public Security Bureau today (July 12):
"The HKSAR Government notes that the Hunan Provincial Public Security Bureau has released the investigation results. The HKSAR Government will not make any comment under the principle of 'One Country, Two Systems'.
"We understand the concerns expressed by the people of Hong Kong on the Li Wangyang incident, and have conveyed the public's concerns and opinions to the Central Government and relevant Mainland authorities. The HKSAR Government will continue to safeguard the freedom of speech and people's right to express their views."
