Police are investigating a traffic accident in Western today (July 1) in which a 30-year-old man was killed.
About 10.50am, a private car driven by the 30-year-old man was travelling along Pok Fu Lam Road towards Western. When approaching near No.139 Pok Fu Lam Road, it reportedly rammed into the railings on the left and fell down a slope.
The driver was trapped inside the car compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, he was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead at 12.17pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
