The Police will implement special traffic arrangements from 2pm on July 1 (Sunday) to facilitate the holding of a parade in Kowloon.
The parade will start at Po On Road Playground, through Fat Tseung Street, Po On Road, Tonkin Street, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Nathan Road, and end at Pitt Street.
Traffic lanes on the following road sections will be closed by phases:
- Fat Tseung Street between Po On Road and Kwong Lee Road;
- Po On Road between Cheung Fat Street and Tonkin Street;
- southbound Tonkin Street between Po On Road and Cheung Sha Wan Road;
- southbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Tonkin Street and Wong Chuk Street;
- northbound Cheung Sha Wan Road between Wong Chuk Street and Nathan Road;
- southbound Nathan Road between Cheung Sha Wan Road and Pitt Street; and
- eastbound Pitt Street between Nathan Road and Waterloo Road.
The following traffic diversions will be implemented when the parade starts:
- traffic along eastbound Po On Road must turn left to northbound Cheung Fat Street;
- traffic along southbound Cheung Fat Street must turn right to westbound Po On Road;
- traffic along northbound Cheung Fat Street cannot turn right to eastbound Po On Road;
- traffic along northbound Tonkin Street cannot turn left to westbound Po On Road;
- traffic along southbound Tonkin Street cannot turn right to westbound Po On Road; and
- traffic along westbound Po On Road must turn left or right to southbound or northbound Tonkin Street.
When the procession arrives at the junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and Wong Chuk Street, traffic along northbound Nathan Road will be diverted to northbound Tai Po Road or to westbound Lai Chi Kok Road via Boundary Street.
Actual implementation of traffic control will be made at the time depending on conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to take heed of traffic signs and follow the instruction of police at scene.
