LCSD to launch Public Swimming Pool Monthly Ticket Scheme (with photo)
**********************************************************

A monthly ticket scheme will be introduced at all public swimming pools managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) on July 5. The scheme is good news for frequent swimmers, who will be able to swim as often as they like during the one-month validity period of the ticket.

The monthly tickets, priced at an affordable $300 each, will be available for purchase by the public from Thursday (June 21).

Those aged 60 or above, persons with disabilities and their minders (on a one-to-one basis), children aged between 3 and 13 and full-time students can enjoy a half-rate concession, i.e. $150 each.

The monthly ticket can be used in all LCSD swimming pools except Wan Chai Swimming Pool, which is designated for group training.

Holders of the monthly tickets will be entitled to unlimited admission to swimming pool facilities during public sessions (normally three sessions a day) for one month from the effective date of the ticket.

"The Public Swimming Pool Monthly Ticket Scheme aims to make regular swimming more affordable, particularly for the elderly, to promote the sport in the community and to encourage the public to maintain a healthy lifestyle," a spokesman for the LCSD said.

"We have considered the factor of affordability when setting the price of the monthly ticket. The price set offers a significant discount as compared to the current cost of single entry incurred by regular swimmers."

From June 21 onwards, members of the public can purchase the monthly tickets at the booking counters of 42 designated sports centres and leisure venues from 9am to 10pm daily.

For details of the booking offices, please refer to the Annex or visit the LCSD website: www.lcsd.gov.hk. Enquiries can be made on 2414 5555.
