EDB to offer all-round support for secondary school leavers on career planning

     The Education Bureau (EDB), with support from the Employees Retraining Board (ERB), will be offering support and advice on career planning for Secondary Six and Secondary Seven school leavers who wish to join the workforce. The event will be held at three ERB service centres from July 23 to 27.

     A spokesman for the EDB said today (June 17), "The support services to be provided include one-on-one career guidance, preparatory workshops for employment, career talks on a wide range of industries and preliminary recruitment, and a designated job corner for fresh school leavers.

     "More than 50 organisations across 18 industries are participating in this event, providing over 70 sessions of career talks and around 2,000 job vacancies."

     The three service centres are located at 20/F, Kwun Tong View, 410 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong; 1/F, Sunlight Building, 273 Shun Ning Road, Cheung Sha Wan; and Unit 301, 3/F, Tin Ching Amenity and Community Building, Tin Ching Estate, Tin Shui Wai.

     The Service Centres situated at Kwun Tong and Cheung Sha Wan will provide services from July 23 to 27. The Service Centre at Tin Shui Wai will provide services from July 23 to 25. Service hours will be from 10am to 5pm.

     Students are advised to visit the New Academic Structure Web Bulletin website (www.edb.gov.hk/nas/en) to make an appointment for the one-on-one career guidance service, and also to enrol for the career talks and preparatory workshops. Seats for the career talks and workshops will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
