Police officers issued a total of 92 Fixed Penalty Tickets (FPTs) and 130 summonses to road users violating traffic regulations during an operation of the Regional Traffic Day in Kowloon East Region yesterday (June 13).
The operation was conducted between 7am and 11pm yesterday and a total of 260 officers from Traffic Kowloon East and District Traffic Teams of Wong Tai Sin, Sau Mau Ping and Kwun Tong were deployed to enforce traffic regulations at traffic black sites in Kowloon East Region.
A total of 376 FPTs were issued for illegal parking and other traffic offences.
Twenty-nine pedestrians and drivers were cautioned for committing minor traffic offences.
Statistics revealed that a total of 875 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred in Kowloon East Region from January to May this year.
