The Council for Sustainable Development (SDC) was today (June 7) briefed by the Government on its response to the SDC's public engagement report on "Combating Climate Change: Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction in Buildings".
The SDC welcomed the Government's prompt and positive response to its report, which it submitted to the Government on March 29, 2012. The SDC report put forward 30 recommendations on energy saving in respect of systemic enhancement and facilitating behavioural changes.
The SDC noted that the Government's response followed a similar line to the recommendations put forward by the SDC, confirming the Government's commitment to promoting energy efficiency. It also looked forward to community-wide participation in energy saving to combat climate change.
