Police are investigating a traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin last night (June 6) in which a 50-year-old woman died.
About 11pm yesterday, a taxi driven by a 74-year-old man was travelling along Choi Hung Road towards Kowloon City. When approaching the junction with Hin Hing Street, it reportedly hit the 50-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head and leg injuries, the woman was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 0.03am today (June 7).
The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for enquiries.
Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East.
