Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Castle Peak today (June 3) in which a 41-year-old woman died and five other persons were injured.

     About 1.45pm, a bus driven by a 56-year-old man was travelling along Lung Mun Road towards Kowloon. When reaching outside Lung Mun Oasis, the bus reportedly lost control, rammed into a bus stop and then knocked down three male and three female pedestrians.

     All the injured, aged 17 to 44, were rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital. One of them, the 41-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and was certified dead at 2.44pm.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
