Voting for discussion topics at Youth Summit 2012 to close on Thursday

     Young people wishing to vote for their choice of discussion topics at the Youth Summit 2012 must cast their vote on the Commission on Youth (COY) website (www.coy.gov.hk) by this Thursday (May 31). Voters can select topics they are most concerned about and interested in for in-depth discussions.

     The Home Affairs Bureau and the Commission on Youth (COY) will host the Youth Summit 2012 on November 24 (Saturday) to provide a platform for young people to exchange their views with government officials and guests on issues that concern them.

     The Youth Summit's theme is "Voices of the Youth - Our Ideal ...". Topics will also be set to encourage exchange and discussion of various subjects.

     To enhance youth participation, online voting is being conducted for young people to choose discussion topics for in-depth discussions at the Youth Summit 2012. Young people are welcome to cast their vote on the COY website (www.coy.gov.hk) to select topics they are most concerned about and interested in.

     Young people may choose four discussion topics out of the following 10 proposed topics for in-depth discussions:

     Our Ideal Home
     Our Ideal Career
     Our Ideal Green Life
     Our Ideal Healthy Life
     Our Ideal Conservation Approach
     Our Ideal Caring Community
     Our Ideal Education
     Our Ideal Cultural Development
     Our Ideal Trade Order
     Our Ideal Sports Development

     The four topics gaining the highest number of votes will become the discussion topics for the Youth Summit 2012.

     The online voting will end this Thursday (May 31) at midnight (Hong Kong time). Details about the recruitment of youth participants will be announced in due course.
