The Hospital Authority (HA) today (May 25) published the "Medication Safety Bulletin" (MSB), which is one of the Authority's regular publications to promote risk management among health-care professionals in public hospitals.
In this issue, the educational bulletin features the review process to update the HA Guidelines on Medication Management, covering safe practices in prescribing, dispensing and administration of drugs. Major changes in the new Guidelines are also highlighted.
The bulletin also shares good practices among hospital clusters, while alerting staff to some common drug name and administration confusion risks.
The publication has already been posted on the web for sharing with health-care professionals. Members of the public are also welcome to browse it at the following link: www.ha.org.hk/msb .
The MSB is published every six months, on the last Fridays of May and November. The next issue will be published on November 30.
