Transcript of remarks by CE-elect
*********************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive-elect (CE-elect), Mr C Y Leung, after visiting the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin this afternoon (May 17):

Reporter: How would you ease the pressure of the medical services and the obstetric services department?

CE-elect: I said in my policy manifesto which was published quite a few months ago, and I repeated it a month ago, that until we have a complete and accurate assessment of the additional burden on the full spectrum of our social services, the quota for Mainland mothers whose husbands are also Mainland residents, giving birth in public hospitals in Hong Kong is zero for next year, 2013. I think it will probably take a few months for the situation to settle down, before we know the later situation.

Reporter: What do you think about the filibuster campaign at the Legislative Council right now, and how would it affect your restructuring plan?

CE-elect: I am keeping a close watch on the situation, I think it is still too early to say.
