Six men arrested for wounding in Cheung Sha Wan

     Police today (May 12) arrested six men suspected in connection with a wounding case in Cheung Sha Wan last night (May 11).

     At about 9.40pm last night, a traffic police officer found a 45-year-old man being assaulted by four to five men armed with knives outside 155 Castle Peak Road. The police officer gave three verbal warnings to the culprits but in vain and subsequently fired one shot at one of the culprits who aged 36.

     The 36-year-old man sustained shot wound to his back while the 45-year-old man sustained multiple chop wounds to his body. Both were sent to the Caritas Medical Centre where the 36-year-old man was certified dead at 10.28pm yesterday. The 45-year-old man was admitted in serious condition.

     Following investigations by the Regional Anti-triad Unit of Kowloon West, six men aged from 22 to 56 in connection with the case were arrested today. They will be detained overnight for further enquiries.

     Police appeal to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or has any information, including video clip taken during the incident, is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2761 2208 or 3661 1644.
