Wounding case in Sheung Shui reclassified as attempted murder

     Police today (May 9) reclassified a wounding case occurred in Sheung Shui last night (May 8) as attempted murder.

     At about 9.20pm yesterday, Police received a report that a 52-year-old man was wounded by an 18-year-old man outside No. 24 Lung Sum Ave.

     Police officers sped to the scene and located the victim with multiple chop wounds on his head, neck and body. He was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment and is now admitted in serious condition.

     Police arrested the 18-year-old man in connection with the case at the scene. He is being detained for further enquiries. Initial investigations revealed that he assaulted the victim with a fruit knife.

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are under way.
