Homicide, suicide and wounding in Sau Mau Ping

     Police are investigating a homicide, suicide and wounding case in Sau Mau Ping yesterday (May 3) in which a 53-year-old man and his 48-year-old wife died. His mother and two daughters were also injured.

     At about 9.10pm yesterday, Police received a report that a fighting occurred in a unit at Sau Yat House of Sau Mau Ping Estate. Police sped to the scene and found four injured women. Two women aged 17 and 75 as well as the 48-year-old woman were rushed to United Christian Hospital where the 48-year-old woman was certified dead at 9.57pm. The remaining 15-year-old girl was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

     During investigation, Police found that a man fell from height at the same building and was certified dead at the scene.

     Initial investigations believed that the man committed suicide after having a dispute with his family members and attacking them with a chopper in the unit.

     A chopper in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted on the deceased to ascertain the cause of their deaths.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sau Mau Ping District are underway.
