One-stop Portal for Learning and Teaching Resources launched
************************************************************

The Education Bureau (EDB) has launched the One-stop Portal for Learning and Teaching Resources (www.hkedcity.net/edbosp) to help teachers in their selection and development of learning and teaching resources to meet students needs. Through this online portal, teachers will have quick access to a variety of digital resources, which can help ease their workload in the preparation of teaching resources. The portal also aims at providing teachers with diversified learning activities to enhance learning and teaching effectiveness.

An EDB spokesman said today (May 3) that the new one-stop portal covers learning and teaching resources for the eight Key Learning Areas across the four Key Stages (Primary 1 to Secondary 6), General Studies at the Primary level and Liberal Studies at the Senior Secondary level; assessment tasks; curriculum documents and information on professional development for teachers.

The Learning and Teaching Resources component of the portal is designed in accordance with the curriculum framework, featuring learning and teaching resources developed by the EDB over the years. These resources include learning/teaching resource packages, class activities, interactive learning materials, ETV programmes, project learning worksheets, notes, school-based experience sharing, teacher references and more. Teachers can access these resources, which are sorted by Key Learning Area, or locate them using a keyword, resource type or digital format. These are available for downloading as text-based documents and can be modified and tailor-made to meet different students and classrooms needs.

The Assessment Tasks Reference (www.hkedcity.net/edbatr) is provided to support teachers in designing classroom assessments related to the Hong Kong Diploma for Secondary Education (HKDSE). Teachers are required to log onto the data bank using their HKEdCity accounts. In order to facilitate teachers' choice of appropriate materials for downloading as text-based documents and compilation of assessment exercises, the assessment questions/tasks are compiled according to the curriculum framework. They are graded into different levels and include a variety of question/task types, such as multiple choice questions, data-based questions, case studies, structured questions, listening tasks, experiments and essay questions.

"The portal contains around 6 000 pieces of teaching resources and more than 1 000 assessment tasks for teachers' reference. The EDB will continue to develop more resources for uploading onto the one-stop portal, enabling teachers to make use of these resources to enhance their classroom learning and teaching," the spokesman added.
