FEHD orders Kwun Tong siu-mei and lo-mei shop to suspend business for two weeks
*********************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a siu-mei and lo-mei shop in Kwun Tong to suspend business for 14 days.

The operator stored open food improperly in the premises and extended the food business area illegally, in breach of the Food Business Regulation.

The siu-mei and lo-mei shop, located at Shop B1 on the ground floor of Nam Wah Building at 19-21 Shui Wo Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (April 26) to May 9.

"In December last year and this January, two convictions on the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $4,500 was levied by the court and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

The licensee of the food premises also had a record of two convictions for selling fresh pork without a fresh provision shop licence and illegally extending the food business area in September 2010 and last August respectively. A fine of $6,550 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in November last year.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
