The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
It has come to the attention of the Legislative Council Subcommittee to Study Issues Arising from Lehman Brothers-related Minibonds and Structured Financial Products ("the Subcommittee") that reports appearing to have disclosed the contents of the Subcommittee's draft report and details of the Subcommittee's internal deliberations were published by two local newspapers today (April 25). The Subcommittee expresses deep regret about the matter as the Subcommittee has not yet finalized its report. In order not to prejudice the impartiality of the work of the Subcommittee and bring unfairness to the persons concerned, the Subcommittee hereby makes this statement to put the matter in proper perspective.
