Man arrested for attempted murder

     Police yesterday (April 24) arrested a 29-year-old man in suspected connection with an attempted murder in Cheung Sha Wan on February 7.

    About 3.15pm on February 7, Police received report that a woman was found injured in her residence at 146 Un Chau Street. Police sped to scene and located the 17-year-old woman who sustained cut wounds on her neck and both hands, as well as stab wounds on her abdomen. She was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital and was discharged after medical treatment.

    Initial enquiries revealed that the victim was attacked by her 29-year-old stepfather with a cutter and a fruit knife.

    The suspect surrendered to the Police at Lo Wu Border Control Point at about 2pm yesterday. He was arrested for attempted murder and is being detained pending further enquiries.

    Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sham Shui Po are underway.
