North Point No.3 alarm fire roundup

     A No.3 alarm fire broke out at a hotel at 23 Oil Street, North Point, this morning (April 21). A LED display wall on the roof of the hotel was severely damaged, and part of the facilities on the seventh and eighth floor as well as the third floor podium deck were also damaged.

     The fire broke out at 2.56am and was upgraded to No.3 alarm at 3.06am. It was put under control at 5.42am, and largely put out at 6.45am.

     Firemen used five jets and six breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. About 300 people were evacuated from the scene.

     One person felt unwell and was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital. She was treated and discharged. Another five people refused to admit to hospital after receiving first aid treatment from ambulance crews at scene.

     Investigation is continuing.
