Police are investigating a homicide and suicide case in Chai Wan today (April 16) in which a 48-year-old man and his 45-year-old wife died.
At about 2.40pm, Police received a report that a man fell from height at 57-87 Shau Kei Wan Road in Chai Wan. Police officers arrived at the scene and found the man lying unconsciously on the podium. He was sent to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was later certified dead at 3.09pm.
At about 3.10pm, Police received another report. Police proceeded to a flat at Fook Yan House of Tung Yan Court in Chai Wan and found the man’s 45-year-old wife lying on the sofa bed in the living room. She was certified dead at scene by the ambulanceman.
Initial investigations believed that the man committed suicide after killing his wife.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted on the deceased to ascertain the cause of their death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern are under way.
