Fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung last night (April 13) in which a 20-year-old male passenger was killed and 12 people were injured.

     At about 9 pm, a private car driven by a 20-year-old man was travelling along northbound Tai Mong Tsai Road. When approaching near Tai Wan Tsuen, the private car reportedly had a head-on collision with another private car driven by a 48-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the 20-year-old male passenger was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.45pm.

     The two drivers as well as five male and five female passengers, aged between 8 and 48, also sustained injuries and were sent to Prince of Wales Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
