Entries invited for "My Future Hong Kong" drawing competition (with photo)

     To celebrate the upcoming opening of the City Gallery ¡V the first permanent planning and infrastructure gallery in Hong Kong ¡V members of the public as well as primary and secondary school students are invited to take part in the "My Future Hong Kong" drawing competition, with entries to be accepted from tomorrow (April 14) to May 31.

     "The competition is organised by the Planning Department and City Gallery, and supported by the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art with the aim of encouraging the public to illustrate their 'dream homeland' and the future of the city through imagination and creativity, so as to share their vision of Hong Kong as the ideal place to live," said a Planning Department spokesman.

     The competition comprises three sections, namely the primary school section, secondary school section and open section, with the respective themes of "My Dream Homeland", "Ideal Green City" and "Impressive Hong Kong". Submissions must be drawn on a piece of A3-size (29.7cm x 42cm) paper with a short description included.

     A champion and 15 "outstanding" awards will be selected for each section. Awards for active participation will also be given to the primary and secondary schools with the highest number of submissions. Each winner will be awarded a book coupon, a certificate and a souvenir. All participants will be presented with a certificate and a souvenir. The winning entries will be exhibited in the City Gallery.

     All entries with completed forms should be submitted before May 31 by post or delivery to the Technical Services Section, Planning Department, 17/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong. Primary and secondary student participants must submit their entries through their schools.

     Results will be announced on the department's website in mid-June. Winners will be notified individually. Arrangements for the award presentation ceremony and exhibition of winning entries will be announced at a later stage.
