***********************************************************

The Chief Executive in Council has authorised the scheme for Port Shelter sewerage, stage 3 - trunk sewerage at Clear Water Bay Road (Tseng Lan Shue Section).

The trunk sewerage at Clear Water Bay Road (Tseng Lan Shue Section) involves construction of 280 metres of gravity sewers, 200m of twin pressurised mains and ancillary works along Clear Water Bay Road. Approval of the sewerage scheme was gazetted today (April 13).

"The scheme will provide a public sewerage system for sewage collection, and help improve the sanitary conditions in the area and achieve long-term water quality improvement in Port Shelter," a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said.

Construction of the scheme is to be carried out by the Drainage Services Department. It is scheduled to start in the second half of 2012 and take about 48 months to complete, the spokesman said.

Details of the scheme were published in the Government Gazette on July 22 and 29 last year.
