For the betterment of residents in the district, the Government is committed to providing appropriate community facilities and upgrading the existing facilities. Regarding the development plan for Area 4 in Sai Kung, we will consult the District Council as soon as possible for the early implementation of the project."

He was briefed by the District Officer (Sai Kung), Ms Maureen Siu, and exchanged views with the Sai Kung District Council Chairman, Mr George Ng, on district facilities, with a view to improving people's livelihoods and promoting the local economy.

Mr Lam made a brief stop at Kau Sai Chau to chat with villagers about their daily lives and to better understand their demand for improved transport facilities and services. Mr Lam also talked to Leung Shuen Wan villagers to heed their views on developing local tourism.

Before concluding the visit, Mr Lam hosted a lunch for members of the local community to exchange views on various district issues. Those attending the lunch included the Sai Kung District Council Chairman, Vice-Chairman and members; Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the Rural Committees; and representatives of various district affairs committees and organisations.

Mr Lam said, "Various government departments will do their utmost to provide quality public services for the benefit of the Sai Kung community and for the development of the local economy. In this regard, the Sai Kung District Council and the local organisations are our partners. With their district networks and front-line district work experiences, they can reflect local views and make recommendations to the Government in a timely manner. We stand ready to actively follow up and respond to the district's needs, and our collaboration seeks to promote the well-being of Sai Kung residents."
