Police are investigating a dead body found case in which a female body was dumped inside a suitcase in Hung Hom this morning (April 4).
At about 7.40am, a male swimmer reported that a suitcase with odd smell was found floating on the sea off the shore of No.7 Wan Hoi Street. Police arrived at the scene and found a female body inside the suitcase. After initial investigation, the case was found to be suspicious.
Police didn’t find any identity document from the body which was wearing underclothes. She was believed to be an Asian woman aged between 20 and 40 and had been dead for about four to seven days.
Post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death of the body. Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Marine Region are underway.
