************************************************************

The Professional Services Development Assistance Scheme (PSDAS) today (April 2) invited a new round of applications from "non-profit-distributing" professional, trade or industrial organisations as well as research institutes.  Applications for the new round should reach the PSDAS Secretariat on or before June 30.

The Scheme, started in 2002 with an allocation of $100 million, finances projects that aim at enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong's professional service sectors in external markets including the Mainland market, and upgrading the standard of the local professional services.

Eligible projects include conferences, training programmes, research studies and promotional events.  Grants are given on a dollar-for-dollar matching basis.  The maximum amount of grant for a project is $2 million.

Detailed information and the application form are available on the PSDAS website, www.cedb.gov.hk/citb/psdas .  For enquiries, please call the hotline, 3655 5952.

To help interested organisations in preparing their applications, the Secretariat will organise a briefing session on May 22.  Interested organisations may call the enquiry hotline for details or registration.
