Licence of employment agency revoked
************************************

Operators of employment agencies are reminded to conduct their business in compliance with the Employment Ordinance and the Employment Agency Regulations, or else they will face prosecution and their licences may be revoked.

"A recent case shows the consequences of non-compliance with the law. The employment agency licence of Harbour Green Employment Agency was revoked by the Labour Department after the company was convicted and fined $5,000 for overcharging a job seeker, which is an offence under the Employment Ordinance," a spokesman for the department said today (March 31).

For inquiries or complaints against unlicensed operations or the overcharging of commissions by employment agencies, please call the Employment Agencies Administration of the Labour Department at 2852 3535 or visit its office at 12/F, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central, Hong Kong.
