Local Cantonese opera virtuosi to perform in two concerts

     A group of local Cantonese opera virtuosi will team up for two operatic songs concerts in May.

     The first show will take place at 7.30pm on May 12 (Saturday) at the Theatre, Ko Shan Theatre. The programme includes "Lu An Zhou", "Return with Glory" from "The Reunion by a White Hare", "The Sounds of Battle", "Matching the Embroidered Shoes", "Daiyu at Her Death Bed" and "Interrogating Her Husband" from "Romance and Hatred".

     The second performance will take place at 7.30pm on May 26 (Saturday) at the Auditorium, Tsuen Wan Town Hall. The programme includes "Eighteen Songs of a Nomad Flute", "The Trail" from "The Injustice Done to Dou'e", "The Betrothal" from "The Reunion by a White Hare", "The Hatless Gathering", "The Reunion" from "The Moon Pavilion" and "Rendezvous at River Luo in a Dream".

     Cantonese opera virtuosi performing at these concerts are: Wong Chiu-kwan, Ng Chin-fung, Li Lung (first performance only), Nam Fung (second performance only), Chan Wing-yee, Chan Kim-sing, Tang Mei-ling (first performance only) and Lung Koon-tin (second performance only).
 
     "Cantonese Operatic Songs Concert" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Tickets ranging from $100 to $260 are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients. (Limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis.).
