Draft South West Kowloon Outline Zoning Plan amended
****************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (March 30) announced amendments to the draft South West Kowloon Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve zoning boundary adjustments related to the "Other Specified Uses" ("OU") annotated "Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza" zone to tally with the gazetted Tunnel Area Plan of the Western Harbour Crossing; the rezoning of two strips of land near To Wah Road from "Government, Institution or Community" and "OU" annotated "Public Utility Depot Including Electricity Substation" to areas shown as "Road", and two strips of land at Austin Road West and Canton Road from "OU" annotated "Arts, Cultural, Entertainment, Commercial and Other Uses" to areas shown as "Road" to reflect the existing/planned road alignments; the inclusion of the area of the existing seawall along the waterfront into the area shown as "West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) Development Plan Area" to follow the Board's convention that the plan/zoning boundary on the waterfront should follow the high watermark; and revision to the Chinese annotation of the "OU" zone for the Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza on the Plan as well as indicating an area of the Plan replaced by the draft WKCD Development Plan No. S/K20/WKCD/1.

The draft South West Kowloon OZP No. S/K20/27 incorporating the amendments is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tsuen Wan and West Kowloon District Planning Office and the Yau Tsim Mong and Sham Shui Po District Offices.

Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before May 30. Representations made to the Town Planning Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
