The Government announced today (March 30) the re-appointment of three serving members and the appointment of one new member to the Hospital Authority, with effect from April 1, 2012.
Ms Lau Ka-shi has been re-appointed for two years. Mr Lawrence Lee Kam-hung and Mr David Lie-A-Cheong Tai-chong have been re-appointed for one year.
Dr Li Chi-kong, a new member, has been appointed for two years. The following is his brief biography:
Dr Li is the Chief of Service of the Department of Paediatrics and Co-ordinator (Clinical Service) of the Prince of Wales Hospital, and the Honorary Clinical Professor of the Department of Paediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Steering Committee on Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics and the Chairman of the Co-ordinating Committee in Paediatrics in the Hospital Authority.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, welcomed the new member to the Authority. He also thanked Mr Stephen Yip Moon-wah for his advice and contribution to the Hospital Authority over the years. Mr Yip had resigned from the Hospital Authority with effect from December 16, 2011.
The Hospital Authority, as from April 1, 2012, will comprise a chairman, 22 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
