The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, today (March 29) will attend the 2012 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition, to learn about the latest developments in green business opportunities brought about by environmental technologies in cities around the globe.
Upon his arrival in Macao in the morning, Mr Yau, leading a Hong Kong Government delegation, will attend the opening ceremony of the forum and its keynote address session. The group will also visit the booths of the Hong Kong environmental industries and attend a networking luncheon afterwards.
In the afternoon, Mr Yau will visit the Pousada de Mong-Hˆh to see how the hotel has reduced energy consumption, water usage and carbon emissions by adopting a series of resource conservation measures. He will also visit an exhibition at the Macao Science Center on Macao¡¦s master plan for a new town.
He will then call on the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr Chui Sai-on, to exchange views on strengthening co-operation in environmental protection between Hong Kong and Macao.

Mr Yau will conclude the visit and return to Hong Kong in the evening.
