Public libraries opening hours for Ching Ming Festival, Easter and Buddha's Birthday

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (March 26) that all public libraries will be closed on Good Friday (April 6), though Students' Study Rooms will be open from 8am to 9.30pm.

     The opening hours of public libraries on Ching Ming Festival (April 4), the day following Good Friday (April 7), Easter Monday (April 9) and Buddha's Birthday (April 28) will be the same as for public holidays, except those libraries which are normally closed on those days.

     For system maintenance, the following library services will be suspended as scheduled below:

1. Multimedia Information System service: from 9pm on
   April 5 until 3pm on April 6;

2. Multimedia Information System booking service:
   3pm to 11.59pm on April 6; and

3. Online and telephone services: 12am to 11.59pm on
   April 6. The affected services include: library
   catalogue via the Internet (web and mobile
   versions), borrower record enquiry and reservation
   of library materials via the Internet, web access
   to electronic resources (including e-books and
   online databases) and the Internet/telephone
   renewal service.
