     The Government announced today (March 23) that Mr Arthur Ho Kin-wah, Deputy Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, will succeed Miss Susie Ho Shuk-yee as Director of Administration and Development in the Department of Justice on April 18, 2012.

     Commenting on the appointment, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, said, "Mr Ho is a seasoned Administrative Officer with rich experience in public administration, good leadership and management skills. I have every confidence that he will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in his new capacity, and assist the Secretary for Justice in overseeing the administration of the department."

     A brief biographical note on Mr Ho is as follows:

     Aged 57, Mr Ho joined the Government in August 1976. He served in the Executive Officer and Trade Officer grades before joining the Administrative Service at the rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade C in April 1993. He rose to his present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade B1 in April 2008.

     Mr Ho has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former Civil Service Branch and the former Economic Services Branch (later renamed Economic Services Bureau). He was Deputy Secretary for Economic Services from December 1998 to December 2000, Deputy Secretary for Transport (later renamed Deputy Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works (Transport)) from January 2001 to November 2004, and Head of the Hong Kong Guangdong Co-operation Co-ordination Unit from November 2004 to March 2006. He has been Deputy Secretary for Constitutional Affairs (later renamed Deputy Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs) since April 2006.
