Quarterly Report on General Household Survey for October to December 2011 is now available for download.
The report contains statistics on labour force, employment, unemployment and underemployment for the fourth quarter of 2011. It also contains detailed analyses of the characteristics of different categories of members of the labour force, including their age, sex, educational attainment, employment status, occupation, industry, hours worked per week and monthly employment earnings. Information on reasons for leaving last job and duration of unemployment for the unemployed is also presented.
Figures presented in the report are statistics which involve the use of the population figures in the compilation process. They have been revised to take into account the results of the 2011 Population Census which provided a benchmark for revising the population figures compiled since the 2006 Population By-census. An appendix showing the revised key labour force statistics from May - July 2006 to October - December 2011 is included in the report for reference.
While the print version of the Quarterly Report on General Household Survey will no longer be provided, users can still download this report free of charge from the website of the Census and Statistics Department (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/statistical_report/labour/index_cd_B1050001_dt_detail.jsp).
