The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Metro City Plaza II, Tseung Kwan O, on March 19 and 20.
A total of 50 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, community and social services, catering and property management industries, offering a total of over 3,200 vacancies. Twenty-five organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as shop manager, telebet services assistant, operation handler, personal care worker, shop assistant, sales staff, waiter or waitress, kitchen assistant, warehouse worker, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 64 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 95 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Five education level or below. Around 60 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Atrium, Level 1, Metro City Plaza II, 8 Yan King Road, Tseung Kwan O (MTR Po Lam Station Exit A2). Admission is free.
