Contractor fined for violation of safety rules

Lok Moon Construction Company Limited was fined $35,000 at the Eastern Magistrates' Court today (March 9) for violation of the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred in Quarry Bay on June 25 last year, in which a scaffolder fell to his death from 11/F to 1/F while erecting a truss-out scaffold on the external wall of a residential building.
