Sha Tin No.3 alarm fire roundup

Large amounts of asphalt material protecting water mains were damaged in a No.3 alarm fire inside Lion Rock Tunnel, Sha Tin today (March 8).
The fire broke out at 3.33am today, and was upgraded to a No.3 alarm at 6.18am. The fire was largely put out by 12.30pm.
Firemen used 10 foam branches and mobilised 10 breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. Twenty-four workers self-evacuated safely.
One fireman was injured and was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
