URBTIX alerts public against suspicious emails and fraudulence
***************************************************

A Leisure and Cultural Services Department spokesman today (March 2) said that URBTIX would like to alert the public that there were reports of suspicious emails acknowledging the recipients had become members of URBTIX and requesting them to update their URBTIX passwords as well as provide their personal information. It was confirmed that URBTIX did not issue any such kind of emails to the public and after investigation, the emails were suspected to be fraudulent.

In view of this, URBTIX strongly advises the public to strengthen the protection of personal information and to take the following preventive measures:

* Do not respond to suspicious emails.
* Do not click on the links and open any attachments in suspicious emails.
* Report to the police and URBTIX about suspicious emails received or suspicious websites.

For any enquiries, please call URBTIX customer enquiry hotline 2734 9009 or Cityline customer service hotline 2314 4228 from 10am to 8pm daily.
