Following is the speech (English translation) by the Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Ms Julia Leung, in moving amendments to the Long Title of the Banking (Amendment) Bill 2011 at the Legislative Council meeting today (February 29):
Acting Madam President,
I move the amendment to the Long Title in the Chinese text. Same as the previous amendments to change the Chinese rendition of the word "liquidity", an amendment to the Long Title is proposed so that the Chinese rendition of "流動資產" for the word "liquidity" appearing in the Long Title will be replaced by "流動性" for the sake of consistency.
The amendment has been submitted to the House Committee for consideration and Members have raised no objection. I hope Members will support this amendment.
