Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum last night (February 28) in which a 58-year-old man was killed.

     At about 8.48pm, a motorcycle driven by the 58-year-old man was traveling along Sha Tin Wai Road towards Ma On Shan. When reaching the junction with Ngan Shing Street, it reportedly collided with an ambulance traveling along Sha Tin Wai Road towards Sha Tin Centre, and turned onto its side.

     The driver sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 10.36pm. Meanwhile, a 55-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle also sustained head and leg injuries and was sent to hospital for medical treatment.

     Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
