Following is a statement by the Chief Executive's Office today (February 27):
In view of the concerns of Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) and the general public over the recent events surrounding the Chief Executive's acceptance of hospitality from friends and his rented apartment in Shenzhen, the Chief Executive has given accounts of the circumstances publicly and repeatedly.
To uphold accountability to the community and the spirit of transparency, the Chief Executive has today indicated to the LegCo President that he is prepared to attend a special Question and Answer session on March 1 (Thursday) at 3pm to 4pm, where he stands ready to address Members' questions on the events.
