The Government announced today (February 24) the closure of part of the footpath of Cheung Sha Wan Road to facilitate improvement works of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Lai Chi Kok Station.
A portion of the footpath on Cheung Sha Wan Road between Tai Nan West Street and Tung Chau West Street will be permanently closed and altered from March 30, 2012, for the construction of a new MTR external lift.
To facilitate the works, a portion of the footpath on Cheung Sha Wan Road between Tai Nan West Street and Tung Chau West Street will be temporarily closed and altered for a period of 32 months from March 30, 2012.
During the construction period, pedestrians will be diverted and a minimum 1.5 metre-wide footpath will be maintained.
Two notices on the road closure and alteration were published in the Government Gazette today.
A plan showing the affected area is available for public inspection at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Sham Shui Po District Office, G/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po; and at the District Lands Office (Kowloon West), 10/F, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei.
Any person who wishes to make a claim for compensation should write to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
