Approved Tsuen Wan Outline Zoning Plan amended
**********************************************

The Town Planning Board today (February 24) announced amendments to the approved Tsuen Wan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve the imposition of building height restrictions for various development zones to provide better planning control on future development/redevelopment and to meet public aspirations for a better living environment. Non-building areas and building gaps are also designated to facilitate air ventilation in the locality.

Other amendments mainly include the rezoning of Tsuen Wan Town Lot 393 from "Commercial" ("C") to "Undetermined", rezoning of several free-standing Government, institution or community facilities from "Residential (Group A)" or "C" to "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC"), rezoning of several electricity substations from various zones to "G/IC", rezoning of a site at Wo Yi Hop Road Garden from "Village Type Development" to "Open Space" and the designation of sub-zones for various sites for incorporation of appropriate development restrictions.

The draft Tsuen Wan OZP No. S/TW/29, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tsuen Wan and West Kowloon District Planning Office, the Tsuen Wan District Office and the Tsuen Wan Rural Committee.

Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before April 24. Representations made to the Town Planning Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb.
