Police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin yesterday (February 21) in which an 82-year-old woman died.
About 12.21pm yesterday, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along an unnamed road in Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate. When approaching near Lung Wah House, it reportedly hit the 82-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained severe head injury and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 2.46pm on the same day.
The LGV driver was arrested for 'dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm' and was bailed pending further investigation.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East Region are proceeding.
