The Labour Department will hold a job fair at Sha Tin Town Hall on February 24 (Friday).
A total of 24 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering, property management and cleaning services industries, offering over 2 100 vacancies. These organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on the day of the event.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as shop supervisor, shop assistant, promoter, cashier, sales staff, waiter or waitress, kitchen helper, customer service attendant, warehouse assistant, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 70 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 99 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Five education level or below. Around 77 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Sha Tin Town Hall (next to New Town Plaza), 1 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin. Admission is free.
